About Us
We're a small, friendly Preschool, with a dedicated and caring staff. We are parents too, so can add a wealth of real-life experience to our many childcare qualifications. We will look after your child with experience, respect and kindness.
Flamstead Preschool is based in the village hall, a building full of character, in the centre of the village. It has been running for nearly 50 years now, and has built up a close partnership with Flamstead Village School – especially with the Early Years Team.
We believe that by maintaining close relationships with all local schools, we can give your child a unique opportunity to start their full time education with confidence.
Flamstead Preschool is run by a Management Committee made up from parents of children attending, or who have attended, the Preschool.
The Committee make sure the setting runs according to the constitution of the Preschool Learning Alliance as well as Ofsted requirements.
The Preschool delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and is both Ofsted registered and inspected. We uphold and follow extensive policies to ensure we give your children the very best care in a safe and respectful environment. We work closely with local EYFS advisers to make sure we implement our framework correctly. We liaise with Redbourn Children's Centre, who are available to us to offer advice, share knowledge, resources and training opportunities. We are also registered with the Preschool Learning Alliance and the Charities Commission.
